Late Summer and the summer stitching goes on

The summer has seen a lot of stitching at our Guild chapter, and last evening's stitch-in yielded some beauties.

Here's Polly W.'s current needlepoint

And Debi's current baby gift, her young relatives are well cared for

Ginny is creating a calendar series of antique doll images, to be assembled as a wallhanging

Carol P., getting to the completion of a stocking to go to a grandchild for his first Christmas, here explaining a tricky technical point.

Margaret here seen at work on a magnificent goldwork fleur de lis, you really have to see this one in person.

And Tom is getting to the end of his tree skirt series of nine Santas, all historic, all different, all stitched in crewelwork with touches of gold.  Here he is with a Santa in progress on the hoop

Here's the general idea of how the tree skirt will work, with the Santa panels alternating with fabric inserts

And here are some of the Santas

The September meeting date, with Liz Moroney teaching Temari Balls, is still being finalized, so look for an email from Helen H. confirming the date, once the instructor has had her chance to weigh in!

September Board is still scheduled for Wednesday September 2 at 7 p.m.  And the first Tuesday of the month daytime stitch in will take place Tuesday September 1 at 1 p.m.
